Job Summary
Database Administrator Location : Cochin, KeralaRequired Technical Skill setsProven working experience as a Database administrator. Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL. Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding. Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools. Hands own experience on development ASP.NET MVC will be treated as advantage. Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically. Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. Candidate should know how to troubleshoot any issues on behalf of the users.
Experience Experience Minimum 3+ years experience
Education Degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification (Experienced Candidates from Bsc/ BE /BTec/ MCA background preferred)
Job Portfolio Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user s specialised role. Establish the needs of users and monitoring user access and security. Control access permissions and privileges. Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. Monitor database performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users. Implement changes and apply patches across version releases. Map out the conceptual design for a planned database. Consider both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users. Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS). Define & maintain data standards, including adherence to the standard protocols. Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata). Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans ensuring data security, privacy and integrity. Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly. Carry out capacity planning. Work closely with software development and the business team ensuring proactive and reactive data management support to the users. Monitor Application performance, commission and install new applications and customise existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose. Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.Experience
