The Job Title: Battery Research Engineer

Location: Chennai

The Big Picture:

Responsible for leading battery innovation and implementation.

What you ll do:

Electric Vehicle (EV) Rechargeable Battery pack design based on vehicle weight, range, packaging volume, safety, etc.,

Complete understanding on EV Rechargeable Battery package process and manufacturing, typically Lithium-Ion Batteries

Thermal analysis of EV rechargeable battery packs numerical and experimental

Performance analysis and testing of EV Rechargeable Battery packages

Knowledge on different kind of Electric Vehicles, Power Systems, Drones, etc.,

Continuous Quality Improvements on EV rechargeable battery packs

Productivity Improvements

Expertise on CAD packages UG Nx, CATIA V5, TC Vismockup, etc.,

Prepares hard copy training materials and presentations for employees and with the approval of management.

Creates monitoring strategies to ensure that employees are performing job duties according to training.

Evaluates job performance of members of the management team.

Develops reports that document job performances of all personnel.

Must Haves:

Good knowledge on EV prototype vehicle integration

Knowledge on battery cooling systems, Numerical modelling of cells, etc.

Knowledge on Performance evaluation of powertrain Noise Vibration Harness (NVH)

Strong Reading & Ability to interpret of EV battery pack OEM Manuals

Ability to interpret and Repair Process Recommendation from the defective EV Battery Packages

Good Knowledge on Glue application machine, UV lighting machine, Traceability system

Strong Manufacturing and Engineering Capabilities, DFMA, etc.,

Ability to interpret engineering / manufacturing drawings

Good knowledge of GD & T

Knowledge on Electric Vehicle Safety, different testing s,

Knowledge on Battery Salvage Management

Good knowledge on various materials used for Battery Packaging & Electric Vehicles

Knowledge on creating Process planning & stage models/drawings for EV Battery Packages, EV charging, etc.,

Awareness on engineering standards & Regulation of various ISO, SAE, Japan Automotive Research institute (JARI), Battery cell standards, etc.,

Awareness of automotive electrical vehicles components and assemblies,

Knowledge on different welding process of EV battery package manufacturing

Great to Have:

Able to lead the team technically, Guide, Train and Evaluation

Analytical Ability, RCA and Problem solving skills

Efforts Estimation, Manpower Planning, Co-ordination with onsite and plan the future work load.

Conducting EV training programs like Battery design, analysis, safety, cooling systems, manufacturing, etc.,
