Job Summary:

This role is a DevOps Engineer a practitioner of DevOps whose primary responsibilities will be to support and enhance services in production and pre- production environments as we complete our migration into a cloud ecosystem. The DevOps team is responsible for application delivery, building automation, adhering to architectural guidelines, generating documentation, monitoring and 24/7 support of their services, and instrumenting services to measure performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• As an integral member of the DevOps team, you will participate in DevOps team activities (iteration planning, scrum, deployment, automation, etc.) while working with product managers, business partners and stakeholders to understand and deliver team goals and objectives.
• Work with team members to build automation into new and existing service offerings.
• Help team iterate and build on non-functional requirements to fully operationalize their services.
• Maintain the existing platforms, monitor usage data, troubleshooting, and deploy new code/fixes.
• Self-starter who is able to identify needs, help with solutions, and thrive in a small team atmosphere with a high rate of change.
• Participate in an on-call rotation amongst the DevOps team members to support the team s services.
• Mentoring of junior team members and peers.
• Working with Integration Engineering/DevOps management to set, drive, and present strategic vision for the department and the organization.

Skills & Experience Required:

• BE in Computer Science or related field
• Experience supporting data intensive applications
• Experience in PHP development will be a plus
• Experience with implementation and design of automation and automation frameworks which leverages tools such as Puppet, Jenkins, Chef, Rundeck
• Senior level experience with AWS or Azure
• Advanced knowledge of Linux, PHP and Apache
• Experience with monitoring tools around application performance monitoring and system level monitoring like NewRelic, nagios, site24x7 etc.
• Experience with RDBMs (MySQL) and NoSQL technologies such as Cassandra and Hadoop
• Experience integrating with centralized logging solutions such as Splunk, syslog-ng, etc
• Experience with source controls systems such as Git, Maven or Subversion
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Understanding of networking, load balancing and storage technologies on-prem and in a cloud environment
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
• Ability to analyze information quickly, problem solve, and make quick decisions
• Adaptive to leadership styles that promote collaboration, teamwork, and innovation
• Comfortable working in a fast past, ever changing, and matrixed environment.
• Flexibility to work off-hours to accommodate scheduled changes.
• Ability to be on call 24/7 on a weekly rotation
• Puppet Labs / Chef experience will a plus
