Job Title: Senior PHP Developer / Software Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad, India

Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time Senior PHP Developer / Software Engineer to join our development team in Canoga Park, CA. This role requires expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), a strong background with web technologies, and exceptional development skills. You will collaborate with other senior engineers to design scalable and robust SaaS transportation software. This role also involves working closely with business process owners to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Model and implement multi-tiered applications with an extensive understanding of web and database programming, focusing on advanced web technologies and multi-tiered application architecture.
• Create and maintain high-quality architecture and design documents, including feature specifications, design specifications, flow diagrams, site maps, and process diagrams.
• Collaborate on software roadmap to guide the direction of the product.
• Interface with customers and internal teams to gather requirements and develop software solutions.
• Develop technical design requirements and provide estimates for development tasks.
• Ensure design requirements are carried out from concept to completion (develop, document, test, deploy, and debug).
• Review code from junior developers and act as a mentor to support their growth.
• Participate in various types of testing, including unit tests, stress tests, and performance tuning.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of experience with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented PHP (PHP5/7 required).
• Experience with clustered MySQL nodes.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles and MVC concepts.
• Ability to write scalable, clean, and efficient code with detailed documentation.
• Experience working with large relational databases supporting commercial websites behind a load balancer.
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript, JQuery, and AJAX.
• Advanced understanding of software engineering concepts, including design patterns, SDLC, OO principles, and UML modeling.

Additional Expectations

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment using tools like JIRA.
• Experience designing and working on robust, multi-tiered, scalable architectures.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Linux/Unix OS and shell scripting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics in simple terms.

Helpful to Have

• Experience with PHP frameworks such as CakePHP, Laravel, or Symfony.
• Experience consuming and creating web services (REST, SOAP/WSDL, JSON).
• Familiarity with package dependency tools like Composer.
