Job Title: Senior PHP Developer / Software Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad, India

Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time Senior PHP Developer / Software Engineer to join our development team in Ahmedabad, India. This position requires expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), a strong background with web technologies, and exceptional development skills. You will collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable, robust SaaS transportation software, working with business process owners to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Model and implement multi-tiered applications, leveraging extensive web and database programming knowledge, including multi-tiered application architecture for advanced web technologies.
• Create and maintain high-quality architecture and design documents, such as feature specifications, design specifications, flow diagrams, site maps, and process diagrams.
• Collaborate on the software roadmap to define and guide the direction of product development.
• Interface with customers and internal teams to gather business requirements and develop software solutions.
• Develop technical design requirements and provide task estimates.
• Guide design requirements from concept to completion, including development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging.
• Review code written by junior developers and provide mentorship and guidance.
• Participate in various types of testing, including unit tests, stress tests, and performance tuning.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of LAMP stack experience (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python).
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented PHP (PHP5/7 required).
• Experience with clustered MySQL nodes.
• Experience with high-availability websites.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design Principles & MVC concepts.
• Ability to write scalable, clean, efficient code with detailed documentation.
• Experience working with large relational databases supporting commercial websites behind a load balancer.
• Experience consuming and creating web services (REST, SOAP/WSDL, JSON).
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript, JQuery, and AJAX, along with Java and Spring, Hibernate frameworks.
• Expertise in advanced software engineering concepts such as design patterns, SDLC, OO principles, and UML modeling.

Additional Expectations

• Experience working in a collaborative team environment using tools like JIRA.
• Experience designing and developing robust, multi-tiered, scalable architectures.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Linux/Unix OS and shell scripting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in simple terms.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or as a team leader, depending on the project.

Helpful to Have

• Experience with PHP frameworks (CakePHP, Laravel, Symfony, or similar).
• Experience with package dependency tools like Composer and Maven.
