Job Summary
Description of Position Purpose of the role: To work towards development and implementation of ITC s sustainability vision, approach and strategy encompassing all emerging and material areas like circular economy, climate change, water stewardship, sustainable agriculture, ESG disclosures among others. Responsibilities: 1.Keep track of latest developments (regulatory, policy, corporate interventions, technology etc.) in the sustainability domain and translate the same into actionable insights for ITC. 2.Keep abreast with latest ESG disclosure requirements by investors and ESG rating organisations CDP, DJSI, TCFD, IIRC, MSCI, Sustainalytics etc. and prepare appropriate disclosures in line with such requirements. 3.Develop deep understanding of multiple sustainability domains through a mix of self-learning, external training, engagement with experts and on-the-job experience. 4.Develop and implement strategies for internal engagement on sustainability related aspects for senior management and employees across ITC businesses. 5.Manage processes for effective monitoring and management of sustainability related data, and facilitate external assurance. 6.Analyse and draw insights from organisational/divisional/unit-level data on sustainability. 7.Represent ITC at various public fora and articulate the company s approach on specific sustainability aspects. 8.Prepare well written communication material on sustainability related aspects for internal and external stakeholders. 9.Identify key gap areas with respect to technical and management aspects necessary for achieving ITC s sustainability goals. 10.Identify, develop and implement appropriate interventions to address above gap areas. 11.Identify, develop and implement specific sustainability related guidelines / tools relevant for ITC businesses. 12.If required, develop and conduct specialised trainings to address the identified gaps. 13.Develop appropriate monitoring frameworks to track the effectiveness of interventions in order to achieve desired outcomes. 14.Advise Division / Unit heads and other senior managers on sustainability aspects and necessary actions to be undertaken for achieving ITC s sustainability goals.Candidate Profile Competencies and skills: 1.Strong communication skills, both written as well as spoken English. Ability to speak effectively in Hindi will be required. 2.Strong problem solving and analytical skills. 3.Ability and keenness to decipher broad sustainability trends and draw inferences related to potential impact on ITC s business by looking at multiple scenarios. 4.Willingness to work in a demanding work environment covering multiple areas like technology, policy, business, people management and ambition to grow into a well-rounded professional 5.Should have exceptional leadership skills and must be able to spearhead the science-based approach to sustainability aspects across the organization. 6.Ability to draft tailor-made sustainability communication material keeping the needs of the intended stakeholder in mind. 7.Should be a good learner and willing to innovate and accept new ideas. 8.Should have a demonstrable personal drive and passion for sustainability. Previous experience: 2-5 years of experience of working in corporate / consulting / think tank / development organisations with exposure to multiple thematic areas in sustainability / sustainable development.
