Your Impact

As a Lead Engineer Fire & PHE, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Fire Suppression, Process Drainage, and Plumbing Systems for industrial projects, including:

  • Pharmaceutical Facilities
  • FMCG Industries
  • Data Centers
  • Electric Vehicle Manufacturers & Battery Plants
  • Paint & Industrial Projects

This role requires expertise in fire protection, plumbing, and process drainage systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards while delivering high-quality, safety-driven designs.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Suppression System Design

  • Design and specify fire suppression systems, including:
    • Wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge systems
    • Fire pumps and storage tanks
  • Knowledge of special fire protection systems, such as:
    • Foam, spray, mist, clean agent, wet/dry chemical, and carbon dioxide systems (preferred)
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and coordinate with external vendors for special hazard systems.
  • Prepare technical data sheets and material requisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (IS, NBC, NFPA, ISO, ASME).
  • Collaborate with clients, multi-disciplinary teams, and stakeholders to develop a clash-free design.
  • Review 3D models (Navisworks) and provide feedback.
  • Conduct field inspections, review contractor shop drawings, and oversee testing & commissioning reports.
  • Provide technical coordination with contractors and site teams, resolving RFIs (Requests for Information).

Process Drainage & Plumbing System Design

  • Design Process Drainage Systems for Bio Waste, Sterile, High & Low TDS, and Steam Condensate Drainage Systems to prevent backflow and contamination.
  • Translate P&ID diagrams into drainage layouts, coordinating with Process Teams & Vendors.
  • Develop Plumbing Drainage (Internal & External), Water Supply, Sewerage, Stormwater, and Rainwater Harvesting Systems.
  • Design underground sewerage and stormwater systems, including STP (Sewage Treatment Plants) & WTP (Water Treatment Plants).
  • Establish water demand, sizing, and storage locations for process buildings.
  • Select and size hot water systems, grease traps, and organic waste converters.
  • Perform water distribution sizing (Cold & Hot Water) and space planning for water & sewage treatment plants.
  • Create detailed drawings, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and technical documentation.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with IS, NBC, IBC, NFPA, IPC, UPC, and CPHHEO manuals.
  • Conduct quality checks on 2D/3D modeling for process drainage & plumbing deliverables.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and vendor data incorporation.
  • Lead plant design activities, collaborating with structural, electrical, architectural, and process teams.
  • Manage scope, budget, and schedule to meet project deadlines.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & Navisworks (Essential)
  • Experience with SmartPlant 3D, Civil 3D, REVIT, Bluebeam (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of AutoPIPE, AutoCAD Plant 3D (Added Advantage)
  • Ability to design multi-disciplinary systems per industry codes and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving, coordination, and project management skills

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline) from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • 12-15 years of experience in a Design Consultancy or Contractor Role (Essential).
  • Strong expertise in fire protection, plumbing, and process drainage design for industrial projects.
