Job Description: The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of databases, database connections and reporting views. This includes monitoring performance of critical SQL relational database systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of corporate applications. This is a hands on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Key areas of responsibility Manage SQL Server databases through multiple production lifecycle environments, from development to mission critical production systems Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high optimal performance, availability, and security Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolutions end-to-end Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement through multiple applications (MS SQL, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence, Tibco TDV, Tibco Spotfire) Preform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours Technical Knowledge and Skills Experience with MS SQL Server Administration Experience with Microsoft T-SQL using SSMS and MS Stack Programming languages .NET, C#, Python, R-script, Oracle SQL preferred Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools Experience with backups, restores and recovery models Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
