Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain efficient and reliable backend solutions for our applications.
- Work with front-end developers to ensure seamless interfaces between front-end and back-end.
- Integrate databases and external services to optimise the performance and scalability of our applications.
- Implement APIs and web services for communication between front-end, back-end and third party vendors.
- Ensure security and privacy of backend systems and data.
- Continuously improve existing systems and processes.

Desired skills and experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or equivalent.
- Proven experience in backend application and systems development.
- Proficient in at least one backend programming language such as Python, Java, Ruby, etc.
- Experience of working with web frameworks and databases (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Postgres).
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and other communication protocols.
- Knowledge of security issues related to backend systems and data processing.
- Agile approach to software development and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Independence, willingness to learn and strong teamwork skills.
