Job Summary

Job Description

Overview This will be the customer facing first point of connection with Link Group IT and perform first level technical support to Link Group core business applications and production systems. This will be done by creating and manage service requests made by internal business units. Ensure service requests are appropriately actioned according to agreed service levels and performance targets are met. Part of this role will also include process improvement and working with all support teams to provide a better client service model to the business.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
  • To provide IT support to business users through systems problem solving and maintenance
  • Investigating and resolving technical issues related to the all core applications and interfaces
  • Provide application support to Link Group technologies as required
  • Work with business users and IT colleagues to ensure timely resolutions are provided to identified issues
  • Completion of regular scheduled tasks to support team SLAs
  • Assist to scope system change requirements
  • Provide effective performance support by minimizing downtime to the business by liaising with developers, back end support, database administrators and vendors
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve the overall performance delivered to customers
  • Actively commit to change to improve where complaints and data trends emerge
  • Maintain systems at a supported version by applying latest patches and service packs
  • Participate in after hours and weekend support
  • Clear written communications back to business and IT stakeholders in relation to incidents or other general status updates

Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Prior experience in applications or system support in the Finance Industry preferable
  • Experience with TIBCO, J2EE, Java, JSP, Websphere / Weblogic, Apache, SOAP, SQL Query writing would be advantageous
  • High level of problem solving skills to handle complex integration, application and other support issues
  • Prior knowledge with IT Service Management tool ServiceNow and ITIL principles preferred
  • Background in financial services and/or securities industry such as Registry, Broking, Exchange, Superannuation or Trading is highly desirable
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Advanced knowledge of Desktop PC operating systems is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of Network Infrastructure systems and technologies
  • Good documentation skills
  • Effective oral and written communications skills that adds value to our customer is essential
  • Willingness to accept responsibility and be accountable for service provided
  • Ability to work on call after hours and weekend in an unsupervised rostered 24x7 environment
  • Analytical and Systematic approach to work
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • A Proven Problem solving ability that lead to business solutions and improvements a must
  • Pleasant and helpful personality
Essential Qualifications
  • Appropriate post graduate Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Information Technology
