Job Summary

As a core component of FTSE Russell Governance Framework, the committees are consulted to ensure that indices incorporate the highest standards of index governance and to remain fit for purpose. Key responsibilities: Work with the other members of the Committee Secretariat function to facilitate and arrange committee meetings and ensure that the annual schedule of external advisory committee meetings is planned thoughtfully Produce and review committee meeting materials, minutes and related documentation Act as the lead author and point person for reporting to internal governance bodies and liaising with (internal and external) audit Maintain an up-to-date suite of committee-related procedures, policies, protocols and trackers, while maintaining a secure, backed-up archive of committee meeting-related content Collaborate with internal partners to determine the most relevant discussion topics for committee agendas, share latest news and thinking from FTSE Russell, complete actions and deliver planned outcomes Respond to questions from Internal Governance, Internal Compliance and market regulators on committee governance Maintain and continually review the framework and procedures for committee membership to ensure the appointment of committee members, renewal of their terms and any resignations/terminations are handled in line with the governance best practice and FTSE Russell s organisational policies Engage with Legal and Compliance on changes to standard letters of appointment, renewal, proxy or observer attendance Safeguard and continue to evolve the published committee membership policies and strategies, drawing on the feedback of the MD of Index Policy as well as the broader FTSE Russell Policy Team Recruit and appoint committee members In conjunction and collaboration with the LSEG Events Team, coordinate committee-related meetings and events Country Classification and Index Policy Support Support the fixed income and equity country classification processes and semi-annual review cycles Act as FTSE Russell s ambassador and collaborate with market authorities and policy makers including central banks, stock exchanges, ministries of finance, custodians and regulators Arrange, minute and manage engagement meetings with market representatives Supervise the semi-annual announcement processes and pre-announcement activity Draft and produce written content and review Policy Team materials as relevant Lead business continuity planning and procedure mapping Capabilities and skills Previous experience in a similar role Solid understanding and proficiency with the functioning of financial markets and indices Strong writing and interpersonal skills. Preference for a qualified lawyer and/or qualified corporate secretary Capable people leader who sets high standards Experienced in managing senior stakeholders Familiar with regulations and the requirements for accurate, well-documented processes and decision logs
