Job Overview: Senior Automation Test Engineer

As a Senior Automation Test Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using industry-standard tools to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires close collaboration with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to identify test requirements, create test plans, and implement automated tests. Your contributions will drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovation in our testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation Frameworks & Script Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation frameworks and scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, Python, Java, etc.
• Test Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with product and development teams to define test strategies, develop comprehensive test plans, and create test cases tailored for automated testing.
• CI/CD Integration: Execute automated test scripts as part of the CI/CD pipeline, analyze test results, and generate detailed defect reports. Communicate findings and metrics to stakeholders.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for optimizing testing processes and advocate for the automation of tests. Implement best practices in test automation and quality assurance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure automation tests align with the overall development process by working closely with developers, product managers, and other teams. Assist in resolving complex technical issues.
• Mentorship & Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to junior QA engineers and test automation engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Tool Integration & Evaluation: Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new tools and technologies into the test automation framework to continuously enhance testing capabilities.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough and detailed documentation of automated test scripts, test data, and results for transparency and traceability.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in software testing and automation.
• Proven experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, etc.
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, etc.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).

Skills:

• Proficient in designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with performance testing and security testing is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degrees are a plus.

Certifications:

• ISTQB certification or similar certification in software testing is desirable.
