Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

Requirement:

Provide server and database support, including installation, patching, upgrading and maintenance.

Monitor and optimize database performance/throughput.

Remotely administering database instances using SSH, TOAD and OEM.

Administer user access, provisioning and de provisioning in accordance with policy and procedures.

Perform database maintenance such as indexing, statistics, backup and restore, performance tuning, partitioning and capacity planning.

Creating, editing and maintaining database schemas.

Implements automation tools for monitoring, alerting and auditing.

Analyzing file systems and storage zones to resolve issues.

Provide support by collaborating with systems analysts, developers, business analysts, and project teams.

Recovering from database failures using Oracle RMAN and FLASHBACK or other designated recovery utilities.

Documents database processes and takes ownership.

Engage Oracle support by submitting and monitoring the status of an Oracle Service Request via Metalink.

Preferred:

Experience using and supporting Oracle Database 10g, 11g, 12c and 19c.

Experience working with TOAD, OEM/Grid Control 10g, 11g and strong knowledge of tuning.

Must have experience with troubleshooting database errors.

Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux environment and shell scripting.

Experienced in developing database automation using advanced scripting techniques.

Excellent organizational skills, Self-directed with ability to independently solve problems.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Clearly communicates with customers, peer group and multiple levels of management.

Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.

Ability to multi-task.

Oracle DBA certification.
