Job Summary Job Summary

Assistant Manager will support the delivery of assignments typically focussed on the technical support to clients across various Domains and Practice Groups along with providing support and guidance to more junior staff on assignments.

Essential Skills

The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the delivery of outstanding quality of work on assignments, within the approaches and frameworks set out by MSC. Assistant Manager will continue to build their knowledge and expertise in core areas of MSCs client delivery work.

Description

Business Development

  • Support the development and submission of proposals to generate business
  • Author /Co-author thematic publications to be developed from field experiences (Focus notes/Briefing notes)
  • Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogues (blogs, discussion forums etc).

Professional Development

  • Conduct Quality of Delivery/Feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelines
  • Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate
  • Take ownership of self-development by acquiring skills, knowledge which adds value to the organization

Business Execution

  • Participate in assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments
  • Lead small and simple assignments under supervision
  • Execute assignments with utmost diligence, attention to detail and focus on quality
  • Seek guidance from colleagues when unsure
  • Support the process of report writing and data analysis
  • Develop linkages with the junior staff of the client to gather assignment related information/data
  • Assist in the review of training courses delivered, research papers prepared, the curriculum developed and technical assistance provided to clients
  • Contribute to the development of MSCs toolkits and other publications

Academic/ professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters level degree ( or higher) in Banking/Business Administration/Accounting/Economics/Sociology or related field
  • Other relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specialization

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in domains such as consulting or research or other relevant areas
  • Experience in the delivery of technical assistance programmes

Skills and competencies

  • Previous experience in consulting or research will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent report structuring and storyboarding skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Ability to lead basic assignments under the supervision by senior team members
  • Strong attention to detail with good field orientation and proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
