So, what will I actually be doing?
Your job as a business development manager is to identify sales leads, pitch to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts. This role revolves around good communication and so your duties are likely to include:
1. Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
2. Planning and preparing presentations (say hello to Powerpoint)
3. Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
4. Overseeing the development of marketing literature
5. Writing reports
6. Providing management with feedback

7. Negotiation skills
8. Plenty of initiative
9. Should also exhibit analytical and database technology skills, which play an essential role in maintaining campaign management applications and generating marketing reports.
