Region Hse Lead Asia Job in Novartis

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Facilitate the implementation of the Global HSE Strategy by providing technical expertise and guidance to regional and site management in all Novartis organizations in Asia region.
  
• Support development and rollout of Global HSE programs and initiatives in Asia region and provide global direction on various HSE topics and programs such as Biosafety / Radiation Safety / Environmental Compliance / Technical Safety / Pharmaceuticals in the Environment & Waste Water / Process Safety Management.
  
• Develop implementation strategy of an effective and efficient HSE management system within region in alignment with business objectives and senior leaders in the Region.
  
• Develop the implementation strategy, guide and support implementation at sites for HSE Global Operating Procedures (GOPs) and ensure effective and efficient HSE management system rollout in Asia.
  
• Subject matter expert on various HSE topics and programs in alignment with business objectives.
  
• Guide site leadership on compliance requirements internally and externally. Advises the Regional HSE Head on local context and potential HSE challenges and opportunities.
  
• Leverage subject matter experts and other generalists to deliver the required result, and quality of support. Influence Leaders and associates within the Region to embed HSE in the Novartis culture.
  
• Facilitate the definition of HSE KPIs for sites in the Region & establish strong and effective network, connection with site leadership and on-site HSE teams

Minimum requirements

• What you ll bring to the role:
  
  
• University degree in safety management, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational health and/or medicine, engineering, or related field. Master s degree in above-mentioned fields is highly desirable.
  
• Overall relevant work experience of at least 15+ years, ideally at multi-national organizations, with knowledge and work experience in HSE.
  
• In-depth experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, biomedical research, and/or healthcare industry.
  
• Experience in leading high impact processes and implementation of improvements across global/regional matrix organizations with cross-functional exposure.
  

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of further languages desirable (e.g. German, French, Spanish and Mandarin).
  Curious to deploy new ideas and to use new innovative digital tools and platforms for providing HSE direction in the Region
