Database Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer with a strong focus on SQL/PLSQL development and performance tuning. This role requires expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions within an Oracle Database 19c environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL processing, PL/SQL development, and performance tuning methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complex SQL queries, including subqueries, correlated subqueries, and dynamic SQL.
- Create SQL scripts for data migration and ETL processes.
- Utilize SQL*Loader for data loading from flat files and spreadsheets.
- Design and develop database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints, synonyms, database links).
- Develop stored procedures, functions, and complex PL/SQL packages.
- Work with collections in PL/SQL.
- Apply knowledge of Oracle Database 19c features and awareness of Oracle 23c AI database.
- Understand Oracle architecture, data dictionary views, and catalog views.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks affecting SQL queries and the database.
- Utilize performance monitoring and reporting utilities (STATSPACK, AWR, ADDM, SQL Monitoring).
- Perform SQL tuning, PL/SQL tuning, and application tuning using tools like TKPROF, Explain Plan, and SQL Monitoring.
- Optimize SQL queries using indexes, table partitioning, and partition swapping.
- Optimize database performance by analyzing database objects, creating indexes, and materialized views.
- Apply bucketing concepts.
- Schedule and troubleshoot jobs in Oracle Database.
- Migrate data between database environments using Import/Export.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in developing complex SQL queries, including subqueries, correlated subqueries, and dynamic SQL.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and collections.
- Experience with data migration and ETL processes.
- Hands-on experience with SQL*Loader.
- Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture and performance tuning methodologies.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and reporting tools (STATSPACK, AWR, ADDM, SQL Monitoring).
- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL tuning techniques.
- Knowledge of Oracle Database 19c features and awareness of Oracle 23c AI database.
- Experience with job scheduling and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in data migration using Import/Export.
- Experience with bucketing.
