Senior Staff Security Researcher (prisma Cloud) Job in Palo Alto Networks

As a Principal Security Researcher at Prisma Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, researching, and developing risk and incident detection rules that safeguard customers from threats and misconfigurations in the cloud.

Your Impact:

• Detection Checks: Design and develop detection checks to protect against attacks and ensure cloud security compliance.
• Research: Investigate emerging cloud services and potential vulnerabilities from a security perspective.
• Threat Detection: Identify cloud attack techniques, tactics, and detection methods based on misconfigurations, events, and flow logs.
• Security Enhancements: Propose and implement security signatures to enhance defense mechanisms.
• Process Improvements: Contribute to ongoing enhancements in security content development, automation, and deployment practices.
• Public Outreach: Advocate for best practices and represent the company's commitment to cybersecurity excellence.
• Industry Leadership: Publish blogs and establish thought leadership in the security research community (bonus).

Your Experience:

• Experience: Over 10 years in security research, with at least 2 years focused on cloud security and policy compliance (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in command-line tools, Linux troubleshooting, and cloud technologies.
• Programming: Highly desirable experience with Python programming.
• Other Skills: Familiarity with Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, SQL, JSON, REST APIs, and cloud technologies like Containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with public cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
