Role overview: Data engineers act as an independent team reporting into the Head of Technology providing stream aligned teams with hands on data engineering skills, whether by embedding into teams for a defined time frame or providing ad hoc specialised support, design and implementation. DBA background preferred, aid teams in SQL performance, SQL query tuning, SQL monitoring, SQL Data warehousing star schema design. Develop ETL processes & tooling, data models, analytic process such as Azure Data Factory & Azure Databricks. Aid teams with data storage and data engineering across a disparate array of technologies including but not limited to, SQL, blob storage, table storage, document storage dbs. Actively participate in data governance forums setting standards and practices with the Group Director of Technology, Head of Technology, Architects and Technical Leads. Ensure that standards set are followed within the teams. Key Responsibilities About you: Drives to Outcomes: focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them.
