We currently process more than 80% of global Pearson eCommerce revenue and serves nearly 50% of all Pearson web traffic, with over 24million page views per month.

We are looking for an eCommerce engineer with experience developing in Java who is keen to develop customer-facing features on our websites, with a keen interest in eCommerce and a passion for technology. Our mission is to deliver ecommerce capabilities within a single codebase and across multiple eCommerce sites serving our Learners, Educators and Practitioners.

As a software engineer you will:

• Implement new functionality on the SAP Hybris eCommerce platform

• Work in an agile team, committing to estimates and delivering within fixed sprints

• Ensure code is of high quality and adheres to non-functional requirements

• Follow and contribute to the project's technical best practices and development standards

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the teams way of working

• Have a strong focus on high quality throughout the entire process, working closely with the Quality Assurance stream

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Technical Leads & Solutions Architects for aspects related to integrations with other systems

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, with strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills

• 3 years experience of hands-on development in Java working with and building highly responsive and highly scalable web applications

• eCommerce platform development experience (SAP Commerce desirable)

• Hands-on experience of working with the Spring MVC framework

• Experience of full-stack development, using client-side technologies such as AngularJS (desirable), React or Vue JS.

• Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases

• Adept at learning new technology, systems and functionality

• The ability and drive to research and solve problems

• Excellent communication skills
