Job Summary

Overall purpose:-================The SI Project Manager role is to manage Systems. Integration customer projects, to secure that the project goals are met, that the customer''s expectations are fulfilled and that the customer relation is handled in the best possible way within the possibilities and scope of the contract.The SI Project Manager is appointed a sponsor, normally a Market Unit representative (e.g. KAM, VP Services), and should have the authorities according to descriptions in the given assignment and PROPS/SanD (or applicable local TTC process).The SI Project Managers assignment should be described in an assignment specification provided by the sponsor/orderer.Responsibilities and Authorities:-========================Responsibilities:-The SI Project Manager is responsible for all project activities during the project establishment, execution and conclusion phases.The responsibility mainly consists of planning, setting up, and executing the project activities, ensuring that the project goals are met and that the customers business requirements are fulfilled.The SI Project Manager has the overall responsibility to achieve the project goals with respect to functions, time and budget, and for the progress of the project. He/she administrates plans, risk handling, resource issues and reports to the project sponsor.The SI Project Manager should also manage the customer relation and the customers expectations and thus handle changes in an appropriate way in conjunction with the requirements for the projects as described in the project specification. Handling expectations is extremely important to get a satisfied customer.The SI Project Manager can have project staff members as support, but the SI Project Manager has still the overall responsibility.Authorities:-The authority for a SI Project Manager shall be defined in the assignment specification made by the sponsor. Normally, it is necessary to make complementary authority descriptions in the project specification.This authority shall cover the right to approve all project-numbered documents, other than assignment specification, project specification and other ordering documents. It also authorizes the SI Project Manager to handle issues concerning economy, purchase, resources, changes in the time schedule etc. within the scope of the project including accepted changes of the project.Main activities:--The SI Project Managers tasks are divided into three main parts (according to PROPS/SanD),1. Project set-up and commitment,2. Project execution,3. Project conclusion.The project set-up and commitmentThe following tasks/activities should be performed: Analyze the customers business requirements, Formulate and communicate the expectations and project goals and get commitments from all involved parties, including the customer, to these goals, Negotiate and get acceptance for resources needed with the line organization within the Market Unit (and GEC), Set up and sign agreements with the orderer, the executing functions and, if applicable, with other involved parties. Set up a project organization and define reporting and communication paths, Plan for quality assurance activities and see to that they are carried out, Continuously identify and analyze risks and take needed actions to remove them or turn them into opportunities, Prepare and communicate all project steering documents and secure that they are kept up to date, Write the project steering documents, like the project specification, Perform the project kick-off activities.Project execution:--The following tasks/activities should be performed: Manage customer expectations and business requirements Manage the project according to the assignment specification/project specification, i.e. carry out the project with specified goals for level of quality, product characteristics, time and cost, Manage interfaces between project parts (sub-projects, sub-products, etc.) and ensure that the dependencies are clearly understood in the project, Manage configuration management aspects during the project, Follow up and document the progress and results of the project continuously, Communicate with all parties involved in the project, especially the customers organization, in order to win and keep their commitment, recognize their contribution to the project and ensure that they are all aware of the decisions that will have an impact on their work, Drive and monitor project progress, analyze it and take actions to make certain that the project will achieve its goals, in other words control the project actively, Continuously identify, report, and mange risks, Continuously guard the opportunities of change management, in order to get paid for deviations and extensions of the order rather than to deliver more than stated in the contract, Continuously identify and report possibilities for additional sales, Report progress to the sponsor, to the steering group (if any) and others as defined for the project, Report (continuously) on suggested improvements in processes, methods, etc. to the line organization and/or the process owners. Reuse experiences from projects and colleagues in order to prevent making the same mistake twiceThe project conclusion:-The following tasks/activities should be performed: Deliver the result(s) according to the project specification, Secure smooth hand-over of all new business opportunities, identified during the project, to the Market Unit organization, Report on improvements, To terminate the project, i.e. conclude the project activities and dissolve the project team, Perform a project wind-up, Hand-over to the support organization and secure that a support agreement is in place, Write and communicate the project Final Report.Reports to:-===========The SI Project Manager should regularly report to the sponsor and, if any, to the steering committee (which might include customer representatives). Further requirements may be defined in the project specification and/or the assignment specification for the project.Interface to:-===============Interfaces between the SI Project Manager and project stakeholders, and communication to/from them, shall be defined in the project specification.

Minimum Requirements

Required competence:-=====================Must be a Graduate engineer with at least 8 to 10 years of total experience, with at least 3 years of working experience as a project manager. Individuals with Business Administration background (MBA) with project management skill will be an added advantage.Since the position is customer front ending, the concerned need to have excellent presentation and communication skills.The desired candidate should be competant for the functional role Systems Integration Project Manager in 2/0209-LXE 107 1266.System Integration domain knowledge, customer business understanding and a great sense of customer focus is a must.
