Product Manager - Container Orchestration Job in Platform9 Systems, Inc.

Position Summary: We are looking for a customer-focused technical product manager to help drive the vision and execution for key components of our Container Orchestration platform; Platform9 Managed Kubernetes. As a product manager in the Container Orchestration team you will own and define feature design and roadmap for key parts of our Kubernetes platform. You will work closely with the Platform9 customers, engineers and GTM teams to define our feature roadmap and then ensure it s being executed. This role reports into our VP of Product Management. Roles and Responsibilities: Work with the engineering and product teams to define Platform9 s product strategy and roadmap for key parts of our Managed Kubernetes (PMK) product. Work closely with Platform9 customers and the broad community of open source users and contributors to build a deep understanding of their processes and pain points. Write product requirements and design the end-to-end user experience for new features. Collaborate with engineering to define each 8-week release and manage sprints. Write technical documentation, blogs and help host webinars. Transform your knowledge and expertise into innovative solutions that redefine how hybrid and edge cloud technology is consumed Define metrics for customer engagement and product success and ensure measurement and execution. Present reports on metrics to management. Act as a trusted advisor for select Platform9 customers, communicate roadmap, enable successful product deployment and consumption. Work with the go-to-market team (sales, marketing) to enable sales by providing better training on new features, collateral, battle cards, and other necessary content. Being the voice of our customers internally to the Platform9 team, proactively communicate requirements and influence product roadmap. Communicate best practices, reference architectures and other training material to customers. Preferred Qualifications: BS/MS in Computer science with minimum 2 years of experience building enterprise software products. A background in product management, sales engineering or customers success is a plus Exceptional verbal and written communication, organization and presentation skills Demonstrated leadership and ability to lead through influence Detail oriented, proactive, energetic, creative, loves working on hard problems Basic domain knowledge of containers, virtualization, technologies such as VMware, linux/KVM, docker Background in any of the following is a plus: virtualization, containerization, hybrid cloud Enjoys discovering customer use cases, identifying gaps and resolving issues in the product.
