Costing Engineer Job in Polyhose

Role:

As an NPD Member and core team member of the Unit IV, you are responsible to prepare costing and optimise cost for New product development. The company is looking at ambitious growth targets and is counting on you to deliver the daily results, and at the same time build the teams, processes, capabilities, and capacities to deliver the business results.

New Product Development costing:

• Participate in Feasibility review conducted by NPD team and support with valuable inputs in terms of supplier selection, control on new child part development, usage of existing child parts etc.
• Work along with the marketing team to prepare costing.
• Prepare comprehensive project plans with technical objectives and detailed cost estimates.
• On receipt of ECN from the customer, review feasibility and support in revised costing.
• Support marketing team for quotation including new and existing customer s opportunities.
• Ensure costings are completed with the highest level of accuracy.
• Assess the cost-effectiveness of the process and product in terms of achieving the intended benefits and making effective decisions.
• Understand complete scope of customer requirement for a project and make costing.
• Study and interpret Engineering drawing and technical specifications to develop manufacturing process flows.
• Prepare detailed estimates for different projects and support project management team.
• Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with defined scope of work.
• Support technically in review of design packages and drawings.
• Utilize inputs from Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design and Manufacturing personnel to develop technical proposals. Collaborate with engineers to determine machining operations, tools, gauges and materials required for the job.

Customer Management:-

• Continuous feedback from the customer and plan corrective actions.
• Conduct thorough design study for each customer to estimate cost.
• Plan regular visit to the customer to understand the scope & costing specifications

Supplier Management:

• Work along with the purchase team to optimise and reduce components cost.
• Optimise cost by identifying vendors for the required components.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain a costing template.
• Document records for all project proposal and associated activities.
• Support ECN documentation to justify changes made to a component or system once the initial design is complete.

Minimum:

• Must read/ understand manufacturing drawings, RFQ Drawings / 3D drawings.
• Conversant in MS Office Word, Excel and Power point Preferred:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with a focus on technical excellence, responsiveness to customers and innovative thinking is required.
