Job Summary
Coordinate with local and remote teams to troubleshoot technical issues and manage connectivity
Monitor and report on technical project progress and track project deliverables
Keep datacenters and shared spaces clean and well organized
Coordinate with global datacenter team, leverage global datacenter documentation, and best practices, suggest areas of process improvement, update and maintain documentation
Equipment orders, returns, shipments, and general inventory management of the firm s entire India infrastructure
Installing, configuring, and deploying fully-distributed Red Hat Linux systems and desktops
Directing support for our continuously active servers, lines, and low-latency network during the India daytime hours
Monitoring, Analyzing & troubleshooting Systems Hardware, performance & software issues
Automating day to day tasks
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
An understanding of data center management and layout (power, cooling, cabling)
An understanding of networking and systems concepts (circuits, IP routing, consoles, networking)
Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat preferred)
Basic Hands-on knowledge of SSH, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
Experience in Linux network performance management and troubleshooting, hardware testing
Experience making and running patch cables (cat5e)
Basic knowledge of Cisco (preferred)
Experience working with fiber optic cables, including the inspecting, cleaning, and testing of these cables (preferred)
Experience working for an exchange, financial firm, or subsidiary of an international technology firm (preferred)
Basic Shell scripting or Cloud exposure will be an advantage for this role
Technical inventory management experience (preferred)
Candidates should also be:
Self-motivated
Able to work flexible hours when required, (including late nights and weekends in order to access datacenters and coordinate with Systems team)
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
Able to travel regionally and internationally
Passionate about technology
Able to lift 60 pounds
