Job Summary

Job Description for Advertising Purposes

This position utilizes knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field with a specialization in the localization area of product development. Designs, develops, writes and implements software applications/scripts. Performs desktop support of applications and tools used by team members. This includes evaluation of new software tools, training, troubleshooting, and configuration assistance of existing tools; responsible of the administration and maintenance of the localization lab; and installing and configuring localized PTC products on non-English locale operating systems. Provides Internationalization support to across PTC organizations, including Development, Training, Product Management, etc. The support is the areas of training, troubleshooting Internationalization and Localization product defects, analyzing integrity of translation files, proper externalization of code, overall product localization readiness, and analysis on best practices.

Relies on instructions and established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Follows disciplined software development practices. Provides application and process support to team members on production level systems to maintain and sustain to CICD requirements. Collaborate in a diverse global team with a broad skillset and mentor and train team members on tools, processes, and best practices.

Work Activities:
Member of engineering team implementing, fixing, and testing production level applications and processes. Design and implement back-end services to execute reliable processes. Develop and execute test scripts and validate test results. Identify, analyze and document defects and inconsistencies in software, outputs, online screens, files, and content. Adhere to departmental standards and follow the companys software development life cycle (SDLC).
Provide architecture recommendations for new applications or enhancements. Engage in pilot experiments evaluating new and innovative ideas and solutions

Preferred Skills:

Proficient with writing clean, reliable and scalable application code in popular languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, Perl, .NET/C#); solid scripting and database / SQL skills
Extensive knowledge of GitLab, ANT, MAVEN, Jenkins, YAML, JIRA, or similar tools
Proficient knowledge of system integration, scripting, troubleshooting, and with assessing the health and performance of software applications
Proficient understanding of CICD, Agile methodology, and SDLC
Must have excellent command of written and verbal English communication skills
Proficient presentation skills, authoring and delivering technical content
Proven ability to mentor and train team members

Preferred Experience:

3+ years of experience in analysis, design, coding , testing & implementation of Web Based Applications using Java, J2EE technologies
3+ years of hands-on experience in Perl, GitLab, ANT, MAVEN, Jenkins, YAML or similar tools
5+ years of experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Sprints, DoD,)
3+ years of experience using Atlassian products - JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint
3+ years of experience supporting cloud environments, Azure ideally
3+ years of experience working in dynamic environments that embrace change
A plus experience working as part of a DevOps or Localization engineering team
A plus understanding of internationalization & localization principles
A plus development experience using Selenium framework
A plus maintenance and support of SDL WorldServer application servers

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or comparable experience
Additional DevOps qualifications, ITIL, and other technical certifications are a plus
