ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Salesforce Administrator engages directly with global, multi-functional teams to provide user support and assist in strategic development and enhancement of the Customer Relationship Management application (Salesforce). This includes, but is not limited to, direct user engagement and support, key stakeholder support and business analysis, continual business process improvement, assessment and advancement of complementary Salesforce technologies, and alignment to overarching Sales & Marketing business objectives.
The Salesforce Administrator acts as the business-facing Subject Matter Expert for the Salesforce technology stack; primary responsibilities include real-time user support, end-user documentation, capturing and evaluating business requirements, stakeholder support during UAT and various phases of the development lifecycle, and execution of required development throughout phased implementation. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that Elsevier has a functionally sound and stable Salesforce deployment, and that the desired level of user support is being achieved.
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Work directly with various business leaders and sales teams; direct accountability for end-user support
Provide system and business process expertise when scoping projects and related integrations
Review solution summaries where appropriate to ensure adherence to best practices and fit-for-purpose, user-focused development
Demonstrable growth mindset; enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems
Integration monitoring and troubleshooting
Documentation and knowledge sharing; technical, business process, best practice, etc.
Applies advanced Salesforce technical principles and concepts; contributes to the development of new principles and concepts
Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives; assignments are often self-initiated, determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results, work checked through consultation and agreement with business stakeholders and formal review of direct line manager
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related field preferred
3+ years previous administrative experience with Salesforce
Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator certification preferred
Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder certification preferred
Experience working in Agile projects
Strong understanding of how to build and support highly scalable and reliable solutions on Salesforce Platform
Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous technical issues
Demonstrated support success with at least one large Salesforce Org
Understanding of UI design principles and best practices
Exceptional analytical skills and experience working with large-scale, complex datasets
Communication skills for both a technical and business audience
