Job Summary

This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The individual should have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.

Accountability:
Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.
Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Resolve technical issues as necessary.
Keep abreast of new technology developments.
Complete bug fixes.
All other duties as assigned.

? Possess strong technical analysis and problem solving skills

? Understanding of Agile and DevOps principles and methodology

? Involvement in the agile development activities, including defect fixing and planning and estimating other development deliverable

? Contribute to continuous improvement and continuous delivery of the software development process

? Work closely with talented developers to resolve technical issues, ensure code quality, appropriate testing and design to deliver excellent product quality

? Provide code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility, and the application of good object oriented programming techniques

? A positive, constructive approach with an emphasis on collaboration and flexibility

Technical Skills:

? 3+ years experience of Java 7 or 8, Spring 3 & 4

? Experience of Continuous Integration Deployment Ideally Packer, Terraform, Jenkins and Docker

? Experience of Tomcat 7&8 and Apache

? Experience of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)

? Experienced working within an Agile Framework ideally SCRUM or Kanban

? Experience with cloud computing platforms ideally AWS

? Experience with No/SQL (Ideally MongoDB) and Elastic Search

? Technical knowledge of building web services using JSON/RESTful
