Database Architect Job in Rxlogix Corporation

General Purpose: This individual will be responsible for the overall product architecture. The candidate will have an opportunity to design and drive our products forward. The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of the wider enterprise landscape and the implications on delivery, operations etc. from their design. The candidate should have extensive experience in software development and architecture, design patterns, databases, integration, 3rd party libraries and tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Foundation in systems development: the database architect should understand the system development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements, design, and test techniques. The database architect is asked to conceptualize and influence application and interface projects and, therefore, must understand what advice to give and where to plug in to steer toward desirable outcomes.
• Depth in data modelling and database design: This is the core skill of the database architect and the most requested in data architect job descriptions. The effective data architect is sound across all phases of data modelling, from conceptualization to database optimization. In his/her experience, this skill extends to SQL development and perhaps database administration.
• Breadth in established and emerging data technologies: In addition to depth in established data management and reporting technologies, the database architect is either experienced or conversant in emerging tools like columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data. While not necessarily deep in all of these technologies, the data architect hopefully is experienced in one or more and must understand them sufficiently to guide the organization in understanding and to adopt them.
• Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture: When the database architect initiates, evaluates, and influences projects, he or she does so from the perspective of the entire organization. The database architect maps the systems and interfaces used to manage data, sets standards for data management, analyses the current state and conceives desired future state, and conceives projects needed to close the gap between the current state and future goals.

  Minimum Requirements

  • University degree, preferably B-Tech/MS/MTech
  • Overall 8 -10+ years of experience with minimum 4-5+ years on Product
  • Technical design and architecture.
  • 7+ years hands on experience Architect, Designing and developing
  • Enterprise software experience
  • Experience with Oracle or another major RDBMS RxLogix Corporation
  • Knowledge of big data technologies including Hadoop, NoSQL data stores, and diverse analytics areas
  • Experience applying agile development methodologies and associated tools
  • Experience with DevOps concepts and tools
  • Work with geographically distributed development teams
  • Experience as Solution Architect in Health and Life Science environments is a plus
  • Experience in AWS technologies is a plus
