About the Role
Join Salesforce s Service Cloud team as a PMTS Q3 Engineer (Software Development Engineer in Test) focused on quality, automation, and engineering efficiency. You will work on cutting-edge customer service platforms that leverage AI-powered chatbots, unified communications, and real-time CRM integrations.
The Q3 Engineering team is a highly accomplished group passionate about quality, tooling, and innovation. As a senior engineer, you will influence product design, quality culture, and delivery across multiple teams, ensuring trust and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate efforts to deliver high-quality software products across multiple scrum teams.
- Own complex and ambiguous features with a deep understanding of the Salesforce Service Cloud application.
- Define and implement quality assurance processes, automation frameworks, and validation techniques.
- Mentor junior engineers, influence quality methodologies, and drive best practices across teams.
- Participate actively in design reviews, test plan creation, and cross-team technical discussions.
- Develop, review, and maintain sophisticated automated test frameworks and scripts.
- Monitor feature quality, identify gaps, and lead initiatives to improve test coverage and automation health.
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to align quality efforts with business priorities.
- Foster a collaborative environment to encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Use telemetry, metrics, and data-driven insights to influence testing strategies and product quality.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of relevant technical experience in software engineering and testing.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Deep understanding of system architecture, operating systems, databases, and object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience designing test plans, automation frameworks, and test specifications.
- Proficiency with testing methodologies, tools like Selenium WebDriver, Jenkins, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience building and optimizing functional/UI automation tests and API testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Agile development, Scrum, and quality management systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, triage issues, and react quickly to changes.
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to pass Salesforce security and background checks.
Highly Desirable
- Experience with open-source test tools and unit test automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with industry quality and usability best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration tools like Jenkins.
- Ability to optimize and automate processes, code, and testing efforts.
