Role Description

We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Job Responsibilities

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Java code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Performing testing, documentation, and mentoring/grooming/coaching less technical staff where applicable
• Work with Architects, Project Managers, and other Developers to estimate the level of effort necessary to implement assigned work packages.

Skills

• Minimum 2-4 Years of experience and should have skills and knowledge listed below. Strong knowledge of Java, Android SDK, Oops concepts, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Working experience with RESTful APIs and JSON to connect back-end services.
• Good understanding of Android UI design guidelines (Material Design Guidelines) and Google Play Store Guidelines. Experience with Audio/Video Streaming.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Experience in Gradle.
• Experience in developing applications with complex and rich UI and custom controls for performance and efficiency. Good Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Good debugging skills, profiling and unit testing.
• Have published at least two Android app on Google Play.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Bitbucket
• Up to date with Android changes, new features and requirements
