Engineer Job in Sandvik

Your scope:

Develop and Improve Manufacturing processes by studying Product and Manufacturing methods. Technical development of new and existing Production lines.

To be more specific, your main responsibilities to handle in this position are:

• Candidate is responsible for the best EHS practices, identifying & reporting Hazard and working in-line with Sandvik way.
• Responsible for manufacturing engineering activities for carbide cell and heat treatment shop.
• To prepare and execute CNC / PLC programs as per requirement
• Responsible for continuous improvement to improve Quality, enhance productivity and cost reduction.
• Execute production requirements like fixtures, tooling, processes and troubleshooting of day to day shop floor issues.
• Prepare and issue process documents such as tooling list & safe work instructions, standard operating procedures and special instructions, if any.
• Responsible for commissioning of new production equipment and process validation
• To train relevant personnel on new / existing equipment, manufacturing method / processes
• Develop competency in grinding process, automation (SCADA, PLC, MES), competency in data collection, analysis and reporting
• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Develop understanding on heat treatment processes and extend support in Manufacturing engineering activities at heat treatment.
• Conversant with quality systems, SPC, FMEA and problem-solving techniques.

Your profile:

Our candidate should have hands on in manufacturing engineering processes with at least 5 years relevant experience from an Engineering organization.

A Graduate Engineer within Mechanical or Production Engineering is required. You have previously worked with strong EHS cultured organizations and you understand the importance of a diverse workforce and collaborative settings.

Other required competencies that we find necessary are:

• Familiar with best EHS Practices in Manufacturing Industry
• Advanced Knowledge in CNC Programming, manufacturing processes, cutting tools, fixtures, FMEA, SPC techniques. Knowledge in 5S, Lean manufacturing
• Familiar with modern machine shop, automation and advanced manufacturing techniques
• Working hand on conventional and high end turning, milling, multi-tasking machines and inspection equipment / methods
• Working hand in CAD tools and CAM programming methods
• Familiar with selection and implementation of machine tools, new cutting technologies and related equipment
• Familiar with quality systems, SPC, FMEA and problem-solving techniques
• Familiar with LEAN manufacturing and six sigma methodology
• Familiar with QMS standards and documentation related to Quality Management Systems like ISO 9001, OHSAS18000 and ISO 14001, API Q1
• Good oral and written communication skills, Positive attitude, soft skills, proficiency in MS office.
