Lead Engineer, Application Engineering Job in Sedemac

Job Description:

The candidate will have to:

• A Lead engineer, Application engineering is expected to convert broadly defined ideas into functioning prototypes/products/experiments.
• S/he is expected to perform calibration on product platforms at customer end.
• S/he is expected to work with a cross functional team (hardware, software, technicians) to execute these ideas. Hands-on development of algorithms /data processing scripts/codes on a daily basis is an integral part of this role.
• S/he shall adhere to development processes and provide feedback/suggestions based on experience about the same.
• A person in this role shall interact with operational teams of customers/vendors as and when required and develop good connect with these stakeholders.
• S/he shall create relevant documentation for product development and release.
• S/he shall train peers/interns in the use of tools/equipment and processes.

Work responsibilities:

• Day to day activities typically include understanding the mechanisms (physics/chemistry) governing products under study (engines, motors), design and/or modification of control schemes for products and calibration using SEDEMAC ECUs or rapid control prototyping tools, conducting studies/experiments in the lab during product/feature/control-strategy development as well as during failure analysis, processing data received from internal/external experiments using tools such as MATLAB/Python/Octave. Documentation of system requirements, logging results of experiments during product/feature development, executing validation plans. High percentage of working at customer locations would be needed.

Desired technical skills:

• Knowledge of Mechatronics- Engine control units (ECU), Functioning of SI/DI Engines, Engine calibration, engine emission norms etc.
• Knowledge of software tools like CANape, INCA, MATLAB, Simulink etc.
• Experience in Product development cycle (Planning, co ordination & Execution)
• An effective communicator with excellent relationship building with key people in large organization

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering
