Role Overview: Senior Principal Engineer Technical Leadership & Innovation

As a Senior Principal Engineer at Serko, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical vision and driving engineering excellence across multiple product streams. You ll collaborate closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges, lead strategic projects, and foster a culture of innovation and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Champion engineering best practices, embedding them across teams to elevate quality and consistency.
• Cross-Stream Collaboration: Proactively resolve coordination challenges to keep teams aligned and productive.
• Customer-Centric Delivery: Partner with Product Managers to ensure pragmatic, high-impact solutions that maximize customer value.
• Project Leadership: Lead or contribute to critical technical projects, prototypes, and innovative solutions addressing high-priority challenges.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers, sharing expertise to build technical capability and foster career growth.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously improve system scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to introduce fresh approaches and maintain technical leadership.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous enhancements in product development processes to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, gathering insights and providing regular updates.

Qualifications & Skills

• Deep expertise in relevant technologies, tools, and programming languages aligned with your product stream.
• Proven problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience leading teams through complex technical changes and maintaining alignment between Product and Technology organizations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
