Job Summary

Job Description The principal responsibilities essentially include: - The primary responsibility of this role is to own and execute computerized fluid dynamic (CFD) projects from the proposal stage through analysis, reporting and presentation. Perform mechanical analysis based on the loading results of CFD simulation. Perform checks for structural stresses, deformations and fatigue stresses. - Prepare 3D design models for steel structures using solid modelling CAD software. - Perform CFD simulations using Ansys Fluent on structures and solar plant layouts. Develop advanced CFD models and other types of engineering calculations (FEA Finite Element Analysis) to evaluate and determine structural performance of structural systems. - Perform analysis and design of structures and prepare optimum design solutions using Ansys Mechanical. - Work within the Design Engineering team to model, mesh, apply actual wind load and analyse a section of solar park consisting of ground mounted structures. - Good knowledge in Strength of Materials, engineering mechanics, vibrations and finite element analysis. - Estimate the manhour required for the analysis. - Prepare and co-ordinate detailed designs and drawings of structures for solar PV module mounting structures, transmission lines and substations, Industrial buildings, canopies, etc.To support structural design and drawings by taking engineering input from technical specifications, client and other engineering disciplines. - Able to perform independently incorporating the GA, Construction drawings, design reports and BOQs. If required shall demonstrate the design at client office locations or end clients. - Ensure the deliverable targets for the projects and shall also be open for the site visits in India and abroad during construction of structures for inspections and quality checks. - Co-ordinate and develop design criteria and construction specifications. - Prepare and monitor schedules for deliverables. - Attend project co-ordination meetings and liaise with Government Authorities, site team, clients and EPC contractors. - Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff. Requirements - Minimum Requirements: B.E degree in Mechanical or Structural or engineering related to thermal / fluid sciences plus two (2) years of industrial experience as the job offered or two (2) years of industrial experience in CFD applications for research and product development using advanced CFD (Fluent) and other engineering modeling/calculations to support design. - Candidate shall be preferably from Consultancy / EPC background with exposure on Ansys/FEA software packages. Knowledge of utility-scale solar PV projects will be added advantage. - Knowledge and interest in performing factory and on-site inspection of structures and its members as per approved drawings, QAP and mechanical properties. - Able to understand the design requirements and gather site-specific information. - Able to support in the preparation of bill of quantities and tenders. - Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-disciplined team. - Prepare design spreadsheets for loading calculations and manual design check. - Competent user of FEA, AutoCAD and Microsoft packages. - Willingness to travel and stay as per requirement in India and abroad. - Needs to comply with the organization s HSE commitment and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
