Job Summary

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Implement, support and manage the corporate database.
  • Design and configure relational database objects.
  • Are responsible for data integrity and availability.
  • May design, deploy and monitor database servers.
  • Design data distribution and data archiving solutions.
  • Ensure database security, including backups & disaster recovery.
  • Plan and implement application and data provisioning.
  • Transfer database information to integrated mobile devices.
  • Some database administrators design and develop the corporate database.
  • Some DBAs analyse and report on corporate data to help shape business decisions.
  • Produce entity relationship & data flow diagrams, database normalization schemata,
  • logical to physical database maps, and data table parameters.
  • Database administrators are proficient in one or more of the leading database management systems, such as, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL and Oracle
  • Analyse users' needs and then design, test, and develop software to meet those needs
  • Recommend software upgrades for customers' existing programs and systems
  • Design each piece of an application or system and plan how the pieces will work together
  • Create a variety of models and diagrams (such as flowcharts) that show programmers the software code needed for an application
  • Ensure that a program continues to function normally through software maintenance and testing
  • Document every aspect of an application or system as a reference for future maintenance and upgrades
  • Collaborate with other computer specialists to create optimum software
  • Reviewing current systems
  • Working closely with analysts, designers and staff
  • Producing detailed specifications and writing the programme codes
  • Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
  • Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going on live
  • Preparation of training manuals for users
  • Maintaining the systems once they are up and running
  • Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with analyst, supervisor, and client.
  • Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analysing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
  • Confirms program operation by conducting tests;
  • Modifying program sequence and/or codes.
  • Maintains historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
  • Maintains colleague confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Should have theoretical knowledge about the Accounting / Manufacturing Process
  • Should be excellent in Support
