R&d Head - Baroda (ready To Drink Beverages) Job in Society Tea

1) Ensures research and development activities will maintain an organization's competitive position and profitability

2) Leading R&D efforts of company from its inception to develop a range of powder based tea, RTD beverages and dairy products.

3) Building and implementing a detailed biochemical laboratory research work plan to fulfill company's research objectives. Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones.

4) Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes and equipment. Manage food innovation and identifying new and diverse products for the organization to introduce to the market.

5) Lead the R&D resources to assure high quality and safe products that comply with product design and recipe-this includes both blending & packaging of Tea premixes, RTD beverages & dairy products.

6) Evaluates technical trends in their specific area of expertise or assignment and makes recommendations for process or product improvements and identify opportunities for new or improved process or products

7) Analyse the complete value chain, interpret the company's production results and recommend improvement activities to the management wherever needed.

8) Data integrity/Documentation & Compliance to be ensured at all times

9) Ensure that all R&D processes are documented from the organisation's quality standards as set and that all processes have SOPs in place. Implementing these SOPs on ground and their regular upgradation and process validation will be the key driver of high quality standards across the organisation.

10) Plan and suggest sound management of the organisation's R&D, QC and product quality standards so that the final branding and quality objectives of the organization are met and customer satisfaction achieved.

11) Plan and direct R&D laboratory to ensure lab testing to provide the highest quality analytical support for manufacturing, while ensuring compliance with protocols, FSSAI, GMP and safety regulations.

12) Conduct experimental design and executes lab scale pilot development in support of organization's objectives.

13) Work across all disciplines (e.g. manufacturing, warehouse QC, etc.) to ensure that the Company maintains a state of readiness for inspection by regulatory agencies.

14) Expertise in steering the entire product development cycle including requirement analysis, planning, monitoring, market surveying, recipe and content development/formulation, prototype development and overall testing of the products.

1) Review company bottlenecks and recommend R&D initiatives to improve the overall effeciency in of the organization. This could be anything from debottlenecking to a Brown-Field project.

2) Work out the Annual R&D Budget and work on projects well within those limits. Keep track of R&D Spends

3) Work on products and projects that render cost efficiency to the organisation and overall increase in the margins.

4) Ensure that MIS reporting to the management is complete, within timelines, accurate and truly reflects the transactions in the business.

1) Ensure timely adherence of all statutory compliances (eg. timely filing of returns, refund claims & forms to statutory authorities. Exposure of working in FSSAI/PCR /Licenses and F&B and/or Food manufacturing plants

2) Qualification & calibration of instruments to be done on a regular basis as per the requirement of the plant

3) Ensure all details related to various statutory compliances, audits of compliances is maintained & provided in case of any audit/scrutiny.

4) Work in tandem with the QA/QC Team for reciprocal compliance and audit requirements.

5) Analyze all the reports especially in case of major deviations/variances and discuss the same with the QA/QC Head and the management for immediate action planning. Have these addressed and sorted evry week.

6) Work across all disciplines (e.g. manufacturing, warehouse, QC, etc.) to ensure that the Company maintains a state of readiness for inspection by regulatory agencies.

1) Ensure all R&D Lab assets (property, literature and product) are adequately insured at all locations and are invariably kept in serviceable condition. This includes patents and copyrights too.

2) Work in tandem as a team with the QC Head & the Plant Head to ensure that the plant machinery and utilities too are maintained and used in the correct manner that would only bolster our quality standards and not vice-versa. For this maintain constant info flow and sharing of best practices between self, Production Head, Plant Head, Admin Manager and the Maintenance Head.

1) Direct, supervise and develop team to achieve assigned targets & maintain customer relationships

2) Ensure self & team's alignment to organisational goals, policies and support to other departments

3) Monitor, equip the team to monitor themselves & engage in constant performance discussion to identify gaps and improve performance (as per PMS cycle)

4) Look out and hire potential talent who will add an added impetus to our R&D need and intent.
