Job Summary

C++ Developer with Linux

Roles and Responsibilities :

As a Developer you will be responsible for the following: - Work with Technical Leads and Project Manager for proposals involving effort estimations, Migrating C/C++ application from Unix platform to Linux platform -Code analysis, Migration strategies, platform dependency removal etc. - Identify and develop tools to help increase developer productivity in the migration and testing.

Skills and Job Requirements :

Candidates with 2+yrs of experience with strong development experience in C/C++, RPC, sockets, system calls, IPC, shell scripts (bash, perl, awk, sed, lex,yacc etc.), X-Windows, Motif, RDBMS and client-server technologies
Skills on Compilers, Make files, debugging and Test tools, GNU Tools (autoconf, auto make, GCC, GDB etc.)
Excellent skills in Platform, architecting, OOAD, modeling & design. Good conceptual understanding of operating systems, Messaging Middle-ware, networking & related system software technologies

Experience :

2-3 years of hands-on s/w development experience on UNIX platforms. Architecting, designing and porting server-side, enterprise grade solutions for large customersExposure to SCO Unix, Redhat Linux, Perl, PHP etc - Good analytical skills and communication skills

Preferable :

Experience in porting applications/products on Unix Platforms. Prior experience of porting applications from any OS to Linux/UNIX is a major plus. Usage of Open Source Tools, Open Source Software Development environment will be an added advantage.
