Job Summary

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designs new databases to securely store data, then maintain those databases to ensure that data remains safe and accessible. This also includes testing all database functions and features to ensure consistent and efficient operation.
  • Reviews a company s database needs and develop plans and programs to manage these issues.
  • Evaluates software, hardware, and computer networks as they relate to the database to check for bugs and other issues that may affect functionality.
  • Cleans up databases by removing excess and old data that no longer needs to be store.
  • Creates and enforce database development standards. Set up database clusters, backup, or recovery processes. Document and communicate database schemas, using accepted notations.
  • Develops or maintains archived procedures, procedural codes, or queries for applications.
  • Develops load-balancing processes to eliminate down time for backup process.
  • Develops data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures.
  • Monitor and report systems resource consumption trends to assure production systems meet availability requirements and hardware enhancements are scheduled appropriately.
  • Collaborates with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements.
  • Demonstrates database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability.
  • Design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security.
  • Design and construct large relational databases.
  • Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Qualification: B.E/BTech/M. E/MTech in Computer Science/IT/Electrical & Electronics/Mechanical
  • Relevant Experience: 7 to 8 Years
  • Database:

  • Should be well-versed with traditional as well as contemporary database architectures and technologies.
  • Hands-on experience designing real-time data management, distributed data storage (e.g., block chain) and generic structures for algorithm-based information management (e.g., machine learning).
  • Understanding of ERP and PLM requirements, XML technology, including the smallest databases in the end devices.
  • MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
  • Architecture:

  • The transition to new and thus AI-based information management systems.
  • Others:

  • Experience in BI, Big Data in general and connectivity such as ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) or REST based scan interfaces.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience in development and support of cluster based EAM landscapes.
  • Technologies like RWA (robust web application) as well as general APP development (mobiles) as required for information management.
  • Ability to work in a global team, willingness to travel to our global offices and locations, good command of written and spoken English language.
