Job Purpose:

The incumbent will perform protein expression and purification from various expression systems, following ALCOA+ principles and Data integrity policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Protein expression involving E.coli, & Mammalian cell lines (Insect cell work is highly appreciated) and purification involving small & large scales of batch sizes (2L 20L).
• Experience with tagged and non-tagged genes for expression and purification, involving expertise in hands-on ion-exchange chromatography, hydrophobic ion chromatography, size-exclusion chromatography, analysis by SDS-PAGE & Western blots, ELISA assays.
• The candidate should be independently able to purify a protein in a multi-step purification (~ 2-5 steps) and have negligible endotoxin amounts.
• The candidate should maintain up-to date lab note books at the time of completing the experiment.
• Ability to work in a team is important and the candidate should demonstrate this objective.
• Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety
• Attend training on environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures imparted company

Educational Qualification:

M.Sc/M.Tech in Biotechnology or related disciplines

Technical/functional Skills:

• Expert level in protein expression and purification.
• Should be conversant with SDS-PAGE gels, western blots, chromatographic modes of purification, understanding of protein analytical data.
• Maintaining Lab notebooks.

Experience: 3-6 years post qualification

Behavioral Skills:

• Should be well versed in verbal and written communication, should be a team player.
• Should be focused towards results and deliverables.
• Should have a high moral framework (ethics code) and high data integrity sense.
