Associate/director Engineering Job in Systango

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Director of Engineering to lead our engineering teams and shape the technical strategy at Systango. As a key leader in the organization, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering efforts, guiding technical direction, and ensuring the successful delivery of scalable and high-quality software solutions. This role requires significant leadership experience in engineering, expertise in solutioning, and a passion for client engagement. You will work cross-functionally with product management, front-end development, DevOps, and sales teams to deliver on our technical vision and drive company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and Manage Engineering Teams: Oversee, mentor, and guide a large engineering team, ensuring the necessary resources, support, and professional development for team success.
• Recruitment and Talent Development: Attract, hire, and retain top-tier engineering talent while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
• Performance Management: Set clear performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide regular feedback to drive individual and team success.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other engineering leaders, product managers, and stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business goals.

Technical Strategy and Execution:

• Technical Leadership: Define and drive the company s technical vision, ensuring software solutions are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
• Architecture Oversight: Provide guidance on software architecture, ensuring the adoption of best practices and industry standards in system design and implementation.
• Code Quality and Best Practices: Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices across all engineering teams to maintain high-quality outputs.
• Innovation and R&D: Encourage innovation and research into emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance Systango s capabilities.

Project Management and Delivery:

• Project Planning: Work closely with project managers and product owners to define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Delivery Excellence: Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of software solutions, managing risks and resolving any issues during development.
• Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Engage directly with clients to understand their technical needs, propose solutions, and manage expectations.

Operational Excellence:

• Process Improvement: Identify areas to optimize engineering processes, boost efficiency, and improve development quality.
• Budget Management: Develop and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring resource allocation aligns with company financial goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development. 5+ years in an architecture role, leading large engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience in client engagement and solution design.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong proficiency in one or more technologies (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, ReactJS) and experience with one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Expertise in software architecture, microservices, API design, and database management.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.

Leadership Skills:

• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams.
• Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to influence technical direction across all levels of the organization.

Communication Skills:

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in client-facing roles and delivering technical presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the IT services industry, working with global clients across multiple sectors.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies and how they integrate with backend systems.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP) are a plus.
