Job Summary
  • Understand organizational goals and design strategy/action plan for maintenance department.
  • Coordinate with Engineering team to understand performance expectations from maintenance department.
  • Prepare annual/monthly budget for maintenance department. Consider cost of spares, technology upgradation, oils/consumables, hiring equipments and diesel etc. Get the approval on budget. Monitor the expenses.
  • Receive breakdown complaints and attend complaint on priority. Assign responsibility of repairing work to team member.
  • Arrange for spares parts & take appropriate measures to repair the machine & resume work.
  • Plan & design processes/systems to reduce breakdown hours and improve operational efficiency.
  • Do the analysis of breakdowns to understand the reasons and provide guidelines to improve on the same.
  • Plan & prepare preventive maintenance schedule & ensure preventive maintenance is completed as per plan. Inform preventive maintenance schedule to Engineering staff.
  • Do the planning & procurement of spares for preventive maintenance. Maintain spares inventory.
  • Take measures to improve the equipment/machines efficiency & provide training to Operators about machine maintenance.
  • Look for measures to reduce cost/wastages related to energy & machines efficiency. Introduce new technology, improve work systems to improve performance and productivity.
  • Identify & arrange support of outside vendors for maintenance/repairing work as per requirement.
  • Do the continual improvement in Maintenance department & implement best practices to improve performance and achieve departmental goals.
  • Receive requirement and hire equipments as per requirement. Monitor the effectiveness/usage of hired equipments. Prepare monthly report and send to concerned HOD & Management
  • Define role and responsibilities within maintenance team and motivate team to deliver performance. Conduct periodical review meetings to assess departmental performance. Identify performance gaps and make improvements.
  • Implement quality management systems (ISO)in the maintenance department and maintain documentation/reports as per requirement. Provide support for internal/external audits.
  • Do the calibration of equipments/measuring tools as per schedule and maintain certifications.
  • Recruit team members as per manpower requirement. Identify training and development needs of team members & provide guidance to improve performance. Assess the performance of team members and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Compile and prepare daily/monthly maintenance related reports and submit to Management as per requirement.

Purpose: Provide leadership for maintenance function. Responsible for Breakdown and Preventive Maintenance.
