Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

Ownership of the application production support for the IT applications.

Lead Application Support L1 & L2 & L3,

Ensure expected SLAs, turn around time requirements linked to incidents, changes, problems in production

Manage the deployment in production

Lead and prioritise the Database Support team s work load

Manage and Own the Problem Management Process

Maintain Database monitoring, performance tuning and testing

Provide input to the implementation, backup and roll-back plan

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Production database health monitoring, L1/L2 support and timely escalations to Development team for help / L3 support.

Measure KPIs related to incidents, support tickets, SLA breaches etc.

Formalization of SOPs for various support teams and implementation of the same.

Contribute to the planning of Oracle database releases and configuration changes

Create and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage.

Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances.

Perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.

Installation of Oracle RDBMS and its tools(Toad,Oracle client,oracle sqldeveloper) that access the Oracle database.

House-Keeping activites on regular basis of oracle and grid home mount point.

Scheduling cron-job of table and index stats gather and other prod activities.

Performs database re-organisations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.

Implements and enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases.

Create new database users as required and assign password according to security standards.

Troubleshooting of issues related to Toad,sqldeveloper and Oracle client(mainly connectivity issues).

Table movement from one Database to another using expdp and impdp or exp and imp.

Creation of DB-link on database and also its requirements which are to be satisfied.

Perform DR-drill according to requirement.

Upgradation of database according to requirement.

Recover and Restore the database from old backup as and when required.

Apply Patch on Oracle database as and when required.

Contributing Responsibilities

Change Control, Incident and problem control

Maintaining SLA based on Users Query

Daily / weekly / Monthly performance reporting

Cordinating with Oracle Support Team for L3 Supprt and Problem Management
