Job Title: Junior System Administrator IT
Location: Ratnagiri
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Role Overview:
As a Junior System Administrator IT, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization s IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role covers a wide range of responsibilities across desktop support, server and network administration, application support, and hardware maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Desktop Support
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Install and configure operating systems with necessary hardening and patch management
- Implement software updates, upgrades, and patches
- Analyze new hardware/software requirements and coordinate with vendors for procurement
2. Application Support
- Provide technical support for enterprise software applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues and user incidents
3. Server Administration
- Perform daily server monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Manage routine data backups and restoration processes
- Monitor and maintain server room infrastructure
4. Network Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls
- Monitor and troubleshoot ISP performance and connectivity issues (ILL, MPLS, Broadband)
- Administer VPNs, firewall rules, and network security settings
5. System Administration
- Manage IT services including email, file sharing, enterprise applications, and security tools
- Address information security threats such as viruses, malware, and ransomware
- Maintain and manage endpoint security tools (Antivirus, DLP, etc.)
6. Hardware Maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot all IT hardware including servers, desktops, printers, UPS systems, biometric devices, and security systems
7. Incident Management & Escalation
- Escalate critical issues to vendors or higher-level support and manage follow-ups
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle records
- Document maintenance schedules, incident reports, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and technical assessments
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Desktop Support, System Administration, and Network Administration
Technical Proficiency Required:
Operating Systems & Services:
- Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Windows 11/10/8/7/Vista/XP
- Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SAMBA, IIS, File Servers, IMAP, POP, SMTP
Microsoft Technologies:
- Microsoft 365, Teams, Skype, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office Suite, Access, SQL Server, MSSMS
Networking:
- Firewall management, TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, routing, NAT, VPNs
- OF/RF/ILL/MPLS link setup, cable crimping, and punching
Hardware:
- PC and server assembly and troubleshooting
- Maintenance of printers, UPS, biometric devices, and related peripherals
