Job Summary Job Title: Water Quality Engineer Job Type: Full-Time Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and ensuring the quality of water in both public and private systems. You will work on improving water treatment processes, conducting environmental assessments, and ensuring compliance with water quality standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct water quality assessments and testing for various water systems, including drinking water, wastewater, and industrial water processes. Develop and implement water quality monitoring programs to track water parameters such as pH, turbidity, microbial content, dissolved oxygen, and chemical pollutants. Analyze water samples and interpret test results to identify contaminants or potential risks to water quality. Design and optimize water treatment processes to meet regulatory standards and improve overall water quality. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality regulations, including EPA and WHO guidelines. Provide technical support and recommendations for the selection, installation, and operation of water treatment systems. Prepare and maintain detailed records of water quality data, reports, and analysis for regulatory agencies and stakeholders. Collaborate with other engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory agencies to address water quality issues and improve water systems. Perform site visits to assess water treatment plants, infrastructure, and environmental conditions, providing solutions for water quality improvements. Investigate and troubleshoot water quality issues, offering practical solutions and recommendations to prevent contamination or degradation. Stay updated with advancements in water quality technologies, treatment methods, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in water quality monitoring, water treatment, or environmental engineering. Strong knowledge of water quality standards, environmental regulations, and water treatment technologies. Proficiency in water quality testing methods and laboratory techniques. Experience with water quality modeling and simulation software. Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations related to water resources (e.g., EPA regulations, Safe Drinking Water Act). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable solutions. Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings to stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications: Master s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification in water quality or environmental engineering (e.g., Board Certified Environmental Engineer). Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and other water quality modeling tools. Familiarity with water treatment plant operations and management. Knowledge of sustainable water management practices and technologies. Experience with wastewater treatment, stormwater management, or other specialized water systems.
