Job Summary
As a Test Engineer at Thales, you will be tasked with developing and executing comprehensive test specifications, cases, and automation scripts based on defined requirements. You'll work with an agile team to enhance test automation and lead the troubleshooting processes for build issues in a Linux environment. Your responsibilities will span across both manual and automated testing, enabling the delivery of high-quality systems to meet the needs of defense and aerospace clients. Key Responsibilities: Test Specification and Execution: Develop test specifications, cases, procedures, and scripts based on product requirements. Execute and validate the effectiveness of the tests. Master the IADT (Integrated Architecture Development Tool) methodology, particularly in relation to test and demonstration activities. Test Automation: Automate testing processes to reduce manual effort and improve testing efficiency. Work with tools like QF Test (or similar) to implement and maintain automation frameworks. Linux Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Linux file system and process management. Troubleshoot build issues and execute Linux commands effectively. Understand networking and virtualization. Tools & Platforms: DOORS for requirement management. Jira for issue tracking and project management. Bitbucket for version control and source management. Shell scripting to automate tasks and ensure smoother build processes. Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD). Collaboration & Independence: Work independently while also being a proactive team player. Take part in the complete product lifecycle from requirements gathering to test execution. Demonstrate a strong ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor s degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience in test engineering or quality assurance roles. Technical Skills: Proven experience in test specification, case development, and test execution. Familiarity with test automation, particularly using QF Test or similar tools. Strong proficiency in Linux systems, file management, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of networking, virtualization, and relevant Linux commands. Tools & Technologies: Proficiency in DOORS, Jira, Bitbucket, Shell scripting, and Jenkins. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks. Desirable Skills: AMS background (Asset Management Services) is a plus. Prior experience with Thales projects or familiarity with Thales processes would be an added advantage. Why Join Thales?
