Role Overview
We re looking for a Financial Crime Risk Specialist to join our Financial Crime Risk Oversight & Management team. As a core member of the Second Line of Defense (2LOD), you will oversee the financial crime risks and controls for Tide s India portfolio. You will ensure adherence to regulatory standards, internal policies, and maintain robust governance across the business.
Your role will involve working closely with both the First Line of Defense (1LOD) and key stakeholders to assess, monitor, and mitigate financial crime risks, while advising on risk controls, due diligence, and emerging threats. You will also lead risk assessments, track key risk indicators, and provide actionable insights to senior management and the Board.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Expertise & Compliance
- Interpret and stay updated on regulations from RBI, PMLA, FIU-IND, and other relevant authorities, ensuring Tide s policies and processes remain compliant.
- Track changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on existing policies and operations.
Financial Crime Risk Oversight
- Take ownership of identifying, assessing, and escalating financial crime risks (e.g., Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Fraud).
- Advise the 1st LoD teams and product teams on regulatory requirements, financial crime controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
Financial Crime Risk Assessments (FCRA)
- Lead regular financial crime risk assessments and ensure mitigation strategies are embedded across Tide s operations.
- Proactively identify emerging financial crime risks and ensure timely escalation to senior management.
Collaboration & Advisory
- Provide expert guidance on financial crime controls during new product builds and product risk assessments.
- Ensure that all new products comply with financial crime regulations and Tide s internal policies.
Reporting & Communication
- Track and report key Financial Crime Management Information (MI).
- Provide regular updates on financial crime risks and any control deficiencies to senior management and committees.
Continuous Improvement
- Support the development and review of new policies and procedures related to financial crime risk management.
- Work with the 1st LoD to enhance and optimize financial crime controls and procedures.
What We re Looking For
Experience & Expertise
- 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Crime Risk domain with a focus on AML/CTF governance, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Strong knowledge of financial crime risks and control frameworks, including money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud typologies in India.
- Prior experience in financial crime risk management in an RBI-regulated environment and exposure to FIU-India and RBI reporting requirements is essential.
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical skills, with the ability to balance regulatory requirements with practical solutions for product teams.
- Experience performing detailed financial crime risk assessments and recommending control enhancements.
Communication & Leadership
- Ability to articulate complex risks clearly to senior stakeholders and drive actionable solutions.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Ability to challenge stakeholders effectively and manage senior-level interactions.
Knowledge of Financial Products
- Familiarity with various financial products like PPI Wallets, BBPS, UPI, and the systems these products operate on.
- Proven experience in driving product risk assessments and ensuring financial crime controls are integrated into product design.
Certifications
- CAMS or ICA certifications would be a bonus.
