Job Summary
Engineer Global Disaster Recovery & Backup
- This position will be the subject matter expert for Enterprise backup and recovery role in implementation, and 2nd and 3rd level day-to-day operational support.
- Position requires strong hands on experience in Enterprise backup technology with preferred knowledge on Azure/AWS native backup and replication methods, Commvault, Data Protection Manager, NetBackup, Backup Exec, or any other leading backup tools.
- Design, implement & support Disaster Recovery, and high availability setups for resiliency for public and private cloud environment using solutions like ASR, Zerto etc.
- Automate our routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups / recovery, patch management and hot fixes.
- Develop an automation deployment strategy.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is maintained to high levels of resilience and performance with maximum uptime and availability.
- Contribute to process development and best practice.Look at new ways to improve resilience, performance levels and supportability of systems.
- Perform the Changes as required in the backup environment, in line with the Change management policies.
- Liaise with vendors for the technical issues/ escalations.
- Focus on internal IT service delivery and involves interactions directly with all of IT technology areas (e.g. Wintel,Networking, VMware, UNIX).
- Ability to handle high severity situations single-handedly, with minimal support.
- Required PowerShell/Shell/Power BI or similar scripting as and when needed.
- Need to be dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious individual that excels at multi-tasking and canramp up quickly in a dynamic, high-tech environment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance of backup systems and DR tools taking both proactive and reactive measures to correct and prevent issues.
- Create and maintain documentation of tasks to be performed and system configurations changes related to DR and backup. Also maintain and ensure accurate run books for the operations teams.
- Provide adequate support for the local office workplace teams and ensuring the locally hosted backup infrastructure services for DR and backup are maintained and monitored well.

- Provide support to users and staff to resolve backup related issues.
- Perform new installations, testing, and overall maintenance & administration.
- Implement and administer backup roles and domain analysis
- Able and willing to learn new as well as existing computer technologies.
- Hands on automation in cloud PaaS and IaaS components in Multi cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or any other public cloud providers.
- Experience in the administration and management of Linux and Windows systems scheduling startup / shut down, handling migrations, VM backup / recovery.
- Using automated build/configuration tools.
- Write scripts Linux, Powershell, BASH.
- Proven expertise/certification in Windows OS, Unix/Linux , HCI OS, Hypervisors and Cloud technologies
- Proven expertise in leading backup tools and its management in an enterprise
- Exposure to TCP/IP networks and protocols, server hardware and storage devices (Tape drives, JBODS, NAS and SAN)
- Awareness to ITIL framework & concepts.

- Ready to work in 24x7 environment in rotational shifts.
