Job Summary

DBA Manager/Lead

Summary A successful candidate would have significant experience in Oracle 19, RAC,systems and architecture including performance tuning for enterprise applications.

This role is key to mission critical business applications that require 24x7 on-call team rotation, incident management, change management and identifying key process methods for efficient delivery of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Works with developers and programmers to understand the potential architectural impacts of different database strategies.

Provides database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical databases, capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading plans, data maintenance plans, and security policies.

Drives IT solutions to ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic and integrated approach to the design of technical solutions.

Partners with Business Teams to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value.

Remains up to date on key technology, business and industry trends.

Set strategic direction for the design and deployment of corporate databases.

Oversees database and team disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Directly supervise the activities of Database Administrators.

Assists in troubleshooting efforts and coaches team members on troubleshooting strategies

Pushes innovative approaches to solving problems

Pushes adoption of latest oracle features to save operational cost and man-hours

Ensures that best practices are followed in all areas including RMAN backup/restore, EXPDP/IMPDP, tablespace management, Data Guard, Pluggable Database management.

Performs code reviews on database administrator led automation scripts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Computer Science IS or related degree and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience including leadership experience.
Subject matter expertise in architecture, database design and/or engineering.
StrongOracle 19c, andRACDBA experience including Database capacity planning and performance tuning.
Database administration principles and practices.
At least 3 years of management/supervisory experience in a large enterprise environment.
Must have prior experience as an Oracle DBA in a large multi-database environment
Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, Goldengate, OEM, RAC, multitenancy
Scripting experience in either Bash, Perl, Python. is preferred
Experience in PL/SQL code development
