Manager - Product Development

Job Objective:
To manage development and delivery of software products by defining project scope, estimating the capacity & time, preparing the work breakdown structure plan, providing development environment, formulating risk mitigation plan and documentation. Additionally coach, mentor and guide the Systems Engineers in team for improved productivity, quality and growth

To write/review design, functional specifications and/or programs by following software development methodology. To resolve application/functionality issues in the software.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare Project Plan (with Project Managers) to allocate and manage team resources to ensure timely delivery of project

• Analyse business requirements and review design and test cases

• Develop risk mitigation plan for projects and execute as necessary

• Develop code based on design/functional specifications

• Manage the budget and resources allocated to the team effectively

• Ensure utilization of the team is in line with the capitalization target

• Identify the training needs of the team and facilitate training delivery accordingly

• Provide timely feedback to team members supported with data/instances to help them improve

• Develop team members to assume more responsibilities

• Ensure job rotation of team members in compliance with AGILE Methodology

• Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve the project functionality

• Acquire/Distribute knowledge needed to complete the work more effectively

• Maintain Technical Backlog for product line

• Liaise with other departments to resolve issues faced by team members as necessary

• Attrition Control, Recruitment and Induction processes

Desired Experience:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in technical domain/software development, with deep understanding of multiple technology platforms and development methodologies

• Domain experience on GSM, CDMA, Wireless, Interconnect application development Telecom Billing, Rating and Settlement experience

• Any Engineering degree (BE/BTech/ME/MTech), preferably in Computer Science Or Computer Application degree (MCA) Or Postgraduate degree (MSc) in Computer Science

• C, Pro*C Advanced level
• C++ and OOP Concepts Advanced level
• Java and Related online technologies Intermediary level
• Oracle, others RDBMS Concepts Advanced level
• UNIX Intermediary level
• Performance Tuning Intermediary level
• Agile Methodologies Intermediary level
• Worked on Telecommunication OSS/BSS platforms and prior experience in Roaming domain would be preferred
• Subversion, CVS Intermediary level
