Job Summary

Position: Payroll Analyst

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform payroll-related functions, including payroll processing, audits, and maintenance.
  • Handle adjustments and amendments, GL balancing, and auditing.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure compliance with SSAE16 requirements.
  • Process payrolls for multi-frequency Managed Services clients as scheduled.
  • Conduct file imports into the payroll system from various sources and verify payroll data promptly.
  • Prepare off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as necessary.
  • Build strong partnerships with clients through superior service and support.
  • Participate in cross-training within other departments (HRIS, Benefits, Garnishment, Tax).
  • Identify client dissatisfaction and propose solutions, coordinating with team leads to resolve issues.
  • Mentor Payroll Analyst I team members and assist with their development.
  • Support Quarter End, Year End, and Open Enrollment tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management while maintaining professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Total experience: 12 to 36 months, with 1+ years in HCM operations (US payroll, taxes, benefits, garnishments).
  • Strong understanding of industry norms and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis).
  • Experience with large corporate payroll processing, including benefits and 401(k) plans.
  • Knowledge of multi-state North American payroll tax laws.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Associate s degree (A.A.) or equivalent experience, ideally with three to five years in a related field.
